Tư liệu là một tạp chí hưởng dẫn người Mỹ đến Sài Gòn ở.  Họ tìm đến những chỗ có đồ ăn vừa ngon và vừa quen biết (của Pháp, hay Hamburger và Pizza của My).  Và họ thích nghe nhạc nhảy đầm nữa.

Năm 1963 các ca nhạc sĩ có nhiều điều kiện đi kiếm sống.  Nhất là các ca sĩ được đi chạy số.  Có lẽ ca sĩ Pat Lâm là người Việt gốc Hoa được kiếm sống tốt nhất là được chạy số hát tiếng Anh ở hai địa điểm là Lido (Đa Kao), Đồng Khánh.  Sau đây Pat Lâm cũng từng hát với ban nhạc Shotguns. (Không biết đây có phải là Pat Lâm có phòng thu ở Chợ Lớn không?).

Ralph Lombardi là một người Mỹ đánh piano.  Một thời gian ông chơi nhạc tại quán Việt Mỹ.  Hình như cũng là một nhà báo ở Sài Gòn?

Tour D'Ivoire ở đầu đường Trần Hưng Đạo là một vũ trường lâu năm.  Nhiều chỗ có dàn nhạc thuê nhiều nhạc công.  Nhiều ca sĩ hát tiếng Việt cũng được làm việc tại một số chỗ - các nữ ca sĩ nổi tiếng qua điã hát đến hiện nay như Minh Hiếu, Mary Lynh, Phương Tâm, và Phương Dung.
